TTF organizes and participates in approximately 25 important international textile exhibitions and trade shows each year, held throughout Europe, America, Asia and the Pacific region in order to assist Taiwan's textile exporters promoting global textile markets. In addition, the TTF also hosts the Taipei In Style (TIS) and the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) every year to facilitate market expansion for domestic and international companies.
The TTF delegations participate in the annual conferences of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), the International Apparel Federation (IAF), International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and the Asia-Pacific Textile and Clothing Industries Forum to promote better communication and exchange point of views between Taiwan's textile enterprises and their regional or international counterparts. To promote regional cooperation, TTF convenes biennial textile meeting with South Korea, and jointly holds biennial conference entitled the Cross-Strait Textile Development Forum with the China National Textile & Apparel Council.
In addition, TTF is entrusted to provide textile mills with customized services in marketing and promotion. Simultaneously, TTF is actively engaged in building business connections with international buyers and brands so as to be familiar with market demands and therefore assisting textile mills with collaborated market promotion. Not only can we master the latest market trends but also increase potential customers and develop better business opportunities.

The TTF plays the role of communicator between government authorities and the textile industry. Striving to achieve an optimum environment for domestic investment, TTF assists the government authorities to frame the development strategies of textile industry and draws up the details of implementation, collects opinions of the textile industry and submitting proposals to the related government authorities for the issues involving the interests of the whole industry, such as environmental requirement, foreign labor and basic wages. The TTF promotes the integration of upstream, midstream, downstream and related enterprises, encouraging them to establish new relationships and strategic alliances with a view to enhancing technological upgrading, and reinforcing the competitiveness of Taiwan's textile industry.
In order to adapt to the globalization of textile trade, the TTF established the textile information service network for providing the textile industry with information of global production, trade and technology with the aims of analyzing on changes of textile trade environment, collecting the information on trade and industries in major countries, and assisting the enterprises to cope with the protectionism and non-tariff barriers of anti-dumping measures invoked by foreign countries.
In recent years, Taiwan has developed the functional textiles and earned a great achievement. In order to help the industry to promote the production and export of high value-added functional textiles, the TTF sets up an objective certification system and provides the industry with the service of issuing Certification of Taiwan Functional Textiles.
Following the elimination of quota in 2005, the quota management affairs entrusted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) to the TTF came to an end. However, since the accuracy and efficiency in quota management earned good reputations in the past, the TTF was entrusted by the BOFT to issue the Certificate of Origin, which is acknowledged internationally, to facilitating enterprises clear customs in the importing countries.
The TTF has established a comprehensive databank of textile industry. TTF provides a wealth of information to the textile industry through maintaining the TTF International Information Website (http://www.textiles.org.tw), the most important portal of Taiwan textile industry, publishing professional journals, and holding seminars. The TTF has issued the "Taiwan Textile Monthly", the most professional textile magazine of Chinese language, and published a series of reports focusing on the situation of Eco & Functional Textile in Taiwan, which showcases the capability of Taiwan Textile Industry and attracts international buyers successfully. TTF's constant purpose is to enable local textile firms to grasp market demands, enhancing the competitiveness and so expand the global market.
In addition, TTF has the only dedicated Textile Library in Taiwan, which collects comprehensive information of all aspects, including textile and apparel, fashion and design, finance, economics, trade, etc., and has established the information platform for communication with readers. The library contains more than 16,000 volumes related to textiles and over 500 periodicals. The public can use the internet to access the library's book catalogue and some 200,000 indexed marketing summaries.
The TTF maintains several e-commerce systems, including the International Information Site (http://www.textiles.org.tw), the Taiwan Functional Textiles Site (http://www.ttfapproved.org.tw) and Project of Application Service on Sales and Production Knowledge for Textile Industry Site (http://monitor.textiles.org.tw). Textile companies can use these Internet sites to obtain updated information with the fastest services.
In addition, the TTF provides consulting and total solution teams to assist textile-related associations to set up their international sites for the industry. The TTF assists in developing in internet application system and maintaining the Apparel ERP System, Administration Management Information Systems. Under the guidance of the related government authorities, the TTF implements government policy of textile industry to assist the textile enterprises in upgrading their e-business capability to deliver the benefit of logistics and participating in the Taiwan Trade Facilitation Task Force.
