Market Promotion
TTF organizes Taiwan textile businesses to participate in important international textile exhibitions and trade shows each year, held throughout Europe, America, Asia and the Pacific region in order to assist Taiwan's textile exporters promoting global textile markets.
In addition, TTF also hosts the Taipei IN Style£¨TIS£©and the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) every year to facilitate market expansion for domestic and international companies.
The TTF delegations participate in the annual conferences of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) to promote better communication and exchange point of views with international counterparts. To promote regional cooperation, TTF jointly convenes textile meeting with Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) every year, and jointly promote trade and collaboration exchanges with related central and regional textile & apparel associations of China.
In addition, TTF is entrusted to provide textile businesses with customized services in marketing and promotion. Simultaneously, TTF is actively engaged in building business connections with international buyers and brands so as to grasp market demand trend and assist textile businesses with collaborative market promotion strategy.

DESIGN R&D In view of the crucial importance of design, TTF creates a framework with design R&D as the axis and fashion trend forecast, innovative technology development, cultural creative economy, design marketing & promotion, design talent incubation, and industrial alliance collaboration as six dimensions, which are linked together with the support from government and industry, to form a foundation for upgrading industrial competitiveness.
Fashion Trend Forecast To provide leading edge fashion information and to facilitate the product design and development process for the industry, each season TTF releases trend-forecast looking 18 months ahead. By collecting and analyzing information on social and lifestyle changes worldwide, TTF offers inspirations and recommendations on season¡¯s themes, colors, fabrics, patterns, silhouettes and design details for textile businesses¡¯ creative thinking. Innovative Technology Development To meet with the consumer demand for a natural, healthy, and better life, TTF works closely with the industry for the development of contemporary leisurewear and sportswear. Aiming at combining innovation and design, on the material side, TTF provides a certification system to ensure the quality of Taiwan functional textiles, while on the end-product side, it emphasizes aesthetic and ergonomic elements such as colors, motifs, shapes and styles. Through special cooperation projects with various companies, TTF has successfully introduced innovative and fashionable sports apparel to the market. Cultural Creative Economy Faced with the challenges of a new economic era, many countries are striving to establish their unique cultural and creative industries to develop differentiated products. Under TTF¡¯s efforts in exploring and stylizing the traditional and cultural elements, coupled with the financial support of government and practical involvement from local designers, Taiwan¡¯s religious and folk heritages are now becoming important sources of inspiration for fashion design, which in turn brings about more fashion dynamics and commercial opportunities. Design Marketing & Promotion One of the major functions of TTF is to promote and present the capability of Taiwan¡¯s textile industry in global market. In addition to having successfully built up a reliable and innovative image for Taiwan in the international textile arena, TTF is also competent with the expertise to provide individual businesses with integral customized services in product development and marketing, brand positioning, and corporate image building and communication. Design Talent Incubation TTF holds nationwide textile and fashion competitions to discover new design talents for the industry. TTF also serves as an interactive platform by holding a variety of activities to stimulate the fashion sense and creativity of the industry. For professional and on-the-job training, TTF offers courses and long-term programs on a wide range of subjects including design and marketing, with particular arrangements of design trainee in textile and fashion enterprises. Industrial Alliance Collaboration To overcome the weakness of small and medium enterprises which make up the major part of Taiwan¡¯s textile industry, TTF seeks to optimize the strength of the industry by encouraging vertical, horizontal, and cross-sector strategic alliance partnership. From introducing and presenting advanced information and know-how for communal use to integrating diverse industrial resources, TTF is striving to facilitate the collaboration of technology, material R&D, as well as product design and development among enterprises and sectors in order to generate new product value, upgrade innovation and enhance competitive advantages of the industry as a whole.

Industry and Information Services
TTF plays the role of a communicator between the government and the textile industry. Striving to achieve an optimum environment for domestic investment, TTF provides the government authorities with proposals of the development strategies of the textile industry and draw up the details of implementation, collects opinions of the textile industry and subsequently submits suggestions to the related government authorities for the issues involving the interests of the industry as a whole, such as environmental requirement, foreign labor and basic wage. TTF is also devoted in promoting the integration of upstream, midstream, downstream and related enterprises by encouraging them to establish strategic alliances with a view to enhancing the competitiveness of Taiwan's textile industry.
In order to adapt to the globalization of textile trade, TTF sets up a textile information service network to provide the textile industry with online, updated information. By collecting and analyzing the latest trends, changes and information on worldwide textile production, trade, market and technology, the network serves as an indispensable tool for local enterprises to cope with the challenges from the ever-changing global economic and textile environment.
Taiwan has earned a prominent position in the development of functional textiles in recent years. In order to help the industry to promote high value-added functional textiles, TTF has established an objective Taiwan Functional Textiles(TFT) certification system to issue authoritative certificates as quality assurance for certified textile products.
Eco-friendly textiles are now becoming a mainstream in the global textile arena. To introduce Taiwan¡¯s contribution and offering in this concern, TTF publishes an annual report ¡°Taiwan Eco-Textiles¡±, focusing on the latest development of eco & functional textiles in Taiwan. It showcases the capability of Taiwan¡¯s textile industry and has successfully evoked positive and overwhelming feedback from international buyers, brands and retailers.
Following the elimination of textile quotas in 2005, the quota management affairs entrusted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade£¨BOFT£©, Ministry of Economic Affairs to TTF came to an end. Since TTF¡¯s outstanding performance in the implementation of the quota management system has been well recognized, TTF was entrusted by BOFT to issue the Certificate of Origin, which is acknowledged internationally, as part of the documentation necessary for customs clearance in the importing countries.
TTF has established a comprehensive databank of the textile industry. TTF provides a wealth of information to the textile industry by way of maintaining its International Information Website (http://www.textiles.org.tw), the most important portal of Taiwan¡¯s textile industry, publishing professional journals, and holding seminars. TTF¡¯s publications include Taiwan Textile Monthly, the leading professional textile magazine in Chinese language, Statistics on Taiwan Textile and Apparel Industry, and other special reports. Taiwan Textile Monthly provides readers with information on development strategy, marketing, business management, R&D, fashion and industry news. Statistics on Taiwan Textile and Apparel Industry provides statistics on production & shipment, employment force, import and export trade, and economic and investment indicators of Taiwan¡¯s textile industry. The annual publication is a major reference source for textile professionals around the world.
e-commerce and ICT Services
TTF maintains and develops several e-commerce systems, including its International Information Website (http://www.textiles.org.tw), the Taiwan Functional Textiles Website (http://tft.ttfapproved.org.tw), the Taiwan Eco-Textiles Promotion and Service Website (http://eco.textiles.org.tw), the Project of Application Service on Sales and Production Knowledge for Textile Industry Website(http://monitor.textiles.org.tw) and the Textile Export Promotion Project Website(http://export.textiles.org.tw). All these textile websites are open for the use of both local and global textile professionals and businesses. TTF also assists individual textile association and enterprise to establish their own website in order to enhance the efficiency of their information services to members and clients.
In addition, TTF provides ICT (information and communications technology) consulting and total solution team services to the textile industry. Supported by government¡¯s projects, TTF¡¯s teams have assisted various small and medium enterprises in implementing e-commerce and internet application systems. In compliance with government¡¯s development policy, TTF also helps textile enterprises to renovate production management and business operation model by applying advanced ICT. Meanwhile, TTF is dedicated to the promotion of ICT application among textile sectors in order to facilitate the globalization of the whole industry.
